Friends-style sitcom opening in 4K with masked warriors

A 44 s parody sitcom intro: five masked warriors, a Blender blockout cut to the theme song, Seedance 2.5 in three 15 s takes, shot-level patches and a 4K finish in After Effects.

A 44-second opening for an AI sitcom called WARRIORS: a crusader, a samurai, a Viking, a Persian Immortal and a Roman cavalryman share one apartment, and the intro parodies a classic 90s sitcom opening - logo over a brownstone, everyone piling onto the couch, umbrellas at the fountain, a name card per hero. This is the trash cut: the same edit, but the friends drink, brawl and shoot their way through a run-down city. Every shot sits on a cut of the original theme song.

Friends-style sitcom opening in 4K with masked warriors

1. A cast that never shows a mouth

Every hero hides his mouth: a great helm, a samurai face mask, a beard down to the chest, a felt face wrap, a bronze face mask. Dialogue can be voiced later without lip-sync, and masked faces keep the video model away from real-person checks. Each hero got one costume sheet - six views on a grey studio backdrop in a 2x3 grid, no text - and these sheets are the only references the clips ever use. Sets are described in words, never referenced.

2. Block out the edit, not the world

  1. Measure the reference edit

Detect every cut of the theme-song intro (33 shots plus a burst of jump cuts in the couch section). These timecodes become the cut list for your own opening.

  2. Nine small sitcom sets in one Blender scene

Brownstone facade, studio living room, fountain, office, diner, convertible on a road, bar, mansion with pool, apartment hallway - each 200 m apart, primitive volumes in clay, furniture by silhouette only.

  3. One camera per shot, bound to timeline markers

46 cameras switch on markers, so the playblast already contains every hard cut at the right frame: locked-off wide for the couch jump cuts, handheld with shake at the fountain, whip pans, a pull-back that reveals the studio at the end.

  4. Heroes as stand-ins

Five capsule figures with sitting, standing and lying variants switched by visibility. Record the playblast in clay; split it into three 15 s pieces on cuts.

3. Three 15-second takes in Seedance 2.5

Each 15 s piece goes in with the clay clip as @Video1 and the five sheets as @Image1-@Image5. The prompt is written as one shot per line with the exact cut timecodes, and it states the cast rules up front: exactly five people, each once, helmets and masks always on, guns fired only at objects or the sky, no blood, no extras. Draft at 480p (54 credits per 15 s), check, then finalize the same take to 1080p (300 credits).

Live-action opening credits of a late-1990s American sitcom gone completely feral, shot on 35mm film: grimy run-down locations, sodium-vapour and fluorescent light, smoke, heavy film grain. Slapstick action-comedy energy: drunken chaos, sloppy brawls between the five friends, guns fired only into the sky or at objects. No blood, no other people. No on-screen text. No dialogue.

@Image1-@Image5 are costume sheets of one character each from six angles: copy each costume exactly; never show a grid.

CAMERA REFERENCE - @Video1 is a clay 3D blockout: follow its camera path, framing and all hard cuts exactly (list the timecodes). Its grey figures only mark positions.

4. Check every quarter second, patch only what broke

Seedance draws the sets again in every take, so never stitch two takes of the same scene - pick one take per piece. Then scrub the whole edit at 4 frames per second and list what broke. Here: a second crusader in the convertible and in the fountain brawl, a helmet that came off in the pawn shop, extras in the bar, a bronze mask that started laughing.

  1. Cut the blockout to the broken shot

Take exactly the frames of that shot from the saved playblast.

  2. Pad it to at least 2 seconds

Seedance refuses a reference clip shorter than 2 s - hold the last frame until it is 2-2.5 s long.

  3. Render a 5 s patch with a strict cast line

Name only the heroes in the shot, say there is one crusader, no extras, masks rigid. Add a still of the same set from a neighbouring shot as a location reference. 18 credits per draft.

  4. Splice frame-exact

Pick the best window inside the 5 s patch and replace exactly the broken frames. Finalize the patch to 1080p (100 credits) - it renders the same take, so the splice stays valid.

5. Finish in After Effects at 4K

  1. Upscale once, as a plate

Detail-preserving Upscale 200 % (detail 55, noise 4) plus Unsharp Mask 35/2 on the 1080p edit, pre-rendered to ProRes in chunks of ~130 frames - and clear the AE disk cache between chunks, 4K fills a disk fast.

  2. Fix shots, then paint the look

Per-shot corrections on adjustment layers (tame the flamethrower orange, lift the dark minigun shot). Then one grade: crushed blacks, teal shadows, warm highlights, slightly lower highlights.

  3. Optics

Red-channel chromatic aberration, a touch of lens distortion, a slow gate weave, halation, bloom, vignette and film grain on top.

  4. Hits on the action

Punch-in zooms with motion blur on blasts and smashes, shake on the minigun and the car crash, exposure flashes on gunshots, light leaks and one film burn on scene changes.

  5. Titles

The logo letter by letter in a marker font with red, blue and yellow dots, slammed in over the explosion; a name card per hero in the free part of his shot. Mix the music to -14 LUFS.
